According to the journal of American medical Association now there is another miracle that you can know baby’s sex before 7 weeks of birth safely. Scientist claims that only a blood test of parents could be enough to find out the sex of baby.

This means there could be some benefits:

a) Parents can take precaution of any disease related to gender.

b) Any gender disorders could be taken into consideration prior and treatment will be possible earlier.

b) Those that are curious to know with the help of ethical means could also go along this test

The Science:

There is a fatal DNA in the mother’s blood, which could help in knowing the sex of baby 7 weeks before. If y chromosomes are found then fetal is but and if not then a girl. I saw this in today’s news paper dated: 9 /08/2011. Before this there were methods to know the sex but not accurately as this one is…….Like

A) Ultra sound method

B) Amniocentesis

The draw back in these methods was a kind of risk of miscarriage...
A kind of medicine was already in shops but was risky and not accurate. Even a company that claimed knowing 5 week before got bankrupt as that company was under suit by a women where her test gone opposite. And they decided to end up because of the test. After suit the company got bankrupt completely.

In America doctors have yet not prescribed about this test, as there it is unregulated, means people don’t take test as usually it happens in Europe

Even in India and China this test is not available because here boys are given more importance then a girl child and so this may result in ending up if they got a girl child. Any way but thanks to science for there non stoppable progress.

The danger:

a) After knowing this any one can end with, if they don’t want a particular gender.

b) Companies may use it rigorously and claim it to be accurate, so people have to be very alert.

Interesting. In UK Doctors sometime will not tell a particular ethnic group about the sex of their baby because boys are considered more important. They discovered if they tell the woman she is having a girl, she aborts the baby.

moneycop, I would have liked to have known the sex of my babies before they were born (because the curiosity about it, and wish to know as soon as possible, was "killing" me). Ultrasounds weren't that great in those days (25/30 years ago). I think even if the "amnio" were to test for some problems, rather than the baby's sex, I would have had a hard time opting to risk losing the baby.

As it is, my first child was a boy. I was completely and utterly thrilled to have another little and a "little set of boys", and if the third had been yet another little boy I would have been just as delighted. As it is, my third child is a daughter - even better! She made things seem all the more complete and perfect. :)
